Due to hardships of rural life, Armenians are emigrating in large numbers to seek employment. Village communities lack adequate healthcare, educational, social, and economic opportunities. Children and their families offer the promise of – and the potential for – revitalizing the fabric of community life in Armenia.
Investing in Armenia directly through Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) allows partners maximum impact and results, since our model is simultaneously systemic and pioneering. COAF’s work transforms the lives of rural children and their families in order to build a prosperous future for Armenia, the region, and the world.
COAF projects create both long-term and short-term opportunities for local residents, with the ultimate goal of promoting locally sustainable pathways to rural revitalization. By innovating education reform, impacting rural health, investing in communities, and incubating economic opportunities across rural Armenia, COAF is supporting the growth of civil society and ushering in a new generation of youth who will contribute to global conversations on social impact and rural life.
COAF is committed to providing rural children in Armenia access to world-class education. Between cutting-edge technologies that revolutionize rural learning, and English language programs that enhance linguistic fluency, students can now access the world in ways that were never before imaginable. As a result, they will become future leaders, partners, and customers of major global businesses who participate in their development.
Together, we can build 21st-century learning communities to transform the future.
COAF is committed to cultivating a healthy nation, fit and poised to participate in civic life. Through expert continuing medical education and village health clinics furnished with modern equipment, we are able to support disease prevention, promote healthy behaviors, and implement strategies that strengthen the well-being of the community-at-large.
Together, we can build a lifestyle of healthy living to revitalize a population.
COAF is committed to bolstering Armenia’s rural communities. Through advocacy-oriented programs, we help foster democratic participation in civic life; broaden young people’s worldviews about their potential to enact change; and empower women via education, training, and professional development.
Together, we can build vibrant, self-reliant networks to drive an emerging democracy.
COAF is committed to paving the road to economic vitality in Armenia through its rural communities. By providing technical know-how through hands-on vocational and business training, we maximize the potential to leverage untapped natural resources and support budding entrepreneurs to realize their dreams.
Together, we can build a thriving rural economy to fuel a nation.
COAF has embarked upon an expansion strategy to impact 100 villages over the next decade. To extend our reach, we will build state-of-the-art Smart Centers: an innovative concept developed by COAF, which will operate as dynamic “idea exchange hubs” to invigorate promising, under-supported areas of Armenia.
The COAF Smart Center’s primary goals are:
The Smart Centers will feature both tailored new offerings as well as proven highly effective programs implemented by COAF over the last decade, including: digital library resources, multi-sensory instruction for disabled youth, entrepreneurship training, civic engagement, apprenticeships, and health education and screenings, while maintaining a focus on environmental and economic sustainability.
Our first Smart Center is being built in Armenia’s northern region of Lori, which is still suffering from the effects of the 1988 earthquake that claimed 25,000 lives.
COAF will cultivate partnerships with organizations which hold similar objectives and expand collaborations with socially responsible private partners with the goal of establishing similar facilities in each of Armenia’s ten provinces within the next decade.
