Social development

COAF’s social development program aims to create partnerships among communities, private enterprise, nonprofit organizations and government agencies. Based on shared community activities, such as training, education, sports, recreation and cultural events, these partnerships will help build the capacity of each village, as well as the cluster community as a whole. Through this program, COAF provides shared services and support to cluster communities and organizations, encouraging public participation in community events and self-help initiatives. Social development activities also promote volunteerism in various community endeavors.

Communities of individual villages and the cluster as a whole will benefit from the creation of social groups, such as women’s associations, parent/teacher committees and youth clubs. COAF will also provide support for community centers by organizing or promoting community activities and endeavors that will encourage the engagement of all sectors of the population, increasing intercommunity ties and public participation in social affairs. Social development activities will include development and implementation of recreation, sport and leadership development programs for youth, as well as sustainable recruitment, training and ongoing support of community volunteers.
