COAF’s economic development activities in the cluster of villages aim to minimize poverty and improve living conditions. The program enables the community’s progress toward economic objectives such as increased family income, employment and productivity. Clustered development allows communities to use available resources efficiently, strengthen the supply chain, and establish businesses that create new jobs and contribute to the strengthening of the economies of the villages. COAF’s economic development plan for the cluster, which involves alliances of public, private and not-for-profit entities, has three primary goals:
COAF’s economic development program promotes sustainable, long-term economic development and helps cluster communities achieve self-sufficiency through innovative and comprehensive business plans developed and implemented at the grassroots level. As a result of COAF’s efforts, including a number of vocational courses, the cluster’s competencies in business and management improve, the ability of business to compete in the market increases, and local enterprises are able to obtain financing for continued growth. The program also helps create sustainable employment and increase family income, providing measurable improvement in quality of life and offering new opportunities for the productivity of future generations.
