In 2003, COAF supported a project to improve the sanitary conditions and create a healthy environment for the children of Gyumri School #15.
The school building was unsafe for the 225 children, ages eight to 16, and faculty, who, despite their talent and enthusiasm for learning and teaching, were forced to deal with non-functioning toilets, peeling paint and plaster, broken windows, unstable stairwells and floors, and lack of heat, even on the coldest days of winter.
COAF’s grant was used to make repairs to the building, including the installation of six modern toilets.
