Expanding Our Commitment to Education

Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) held its sixth annual fall fundraiser, A Night of Brilliance, on Friday, November 6 in New York City. The evening was dedicated to COAF’s Honorary President, Antranig Sarkissian who recently passed away.  
Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the 14th floor of the exquisite Glass Houses before proceeding up to the 21st floor to enjoy panoramic views of the city for dinner.  
Founder and Chairman, Dr. Garo Armen welcomed and expressed his gratitude to the group of 120 friends and benefactors gathered. The event raised $1.2 million for COAF’s education programs in rural Armenia.  
Loyal COAF supporter, Andrea Martin returned as Master of Ceremonies, entertaining those gathered with her wit and bringing friends Nellie McKay, Debra Monk and Martin Short to perform as well.  
Martin Short involved George Pagoumian and Larry Feinberg in a hilarious bit taken from his hit movie, Three Amigos. Andrea Martin and Debra Monk sang “Class” from the classic Broadway musical, Chicago.  
Malcolm Barber, CEO of Bonhams and Butterfields presided over the live auction of seven beautiful pieces of diamond jewelry from a world renowned company.  Auction revenue was $1.7 million. Proceeds from the auction are included in COAF’s fundraising total of $1.2 million.
